Fiat 500, 500L Try to Stand Out at SEMA
Do Fiat’s little compacts have a place in the aftermarket world?
The Italian automaker is trying to make a case for it by bringing a modified 500 and 500L to this year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The Fiat 500 Abarth Scorpion showcases on the performance the sporty 500 Abarth can offer, getting outfitted with lightweight Abarth wheels while an Abarth exhaust system gives the 500 a more menacing growl. A two-tone red and white paint scheme is certainly race-inspired, though a bit over the top for the 500.

Showcasing its latest addition to its lineup, the Fiat 500L Custom combines West Coast culture with Italian design, at least that’s what Fiat says. Red has been mixed with black for another two-tone paint scheme while the compact sedan has a lowered stance and rides on Mopar prototype lightweight wheels. Up front, Mopar has developed a prototype splitter while in the rear a Mopar catback exhaust can be seen.
Both vehicles got extensive interior modifications as well, continuing with the two-tone color schemes with Katzkin leather. According to Fiat, the interior options found on the Fiat 500 Abarth Scorpion are intended for future availability through the Mopar Custom Shop.
