The Porsche 911 is getting a facelift that could usher in the 992 generation.

These spy photos reveal the 911 facelift with changes substantial enough that the German automaker may forego calling it the 991.5 but rather usher in the 992 era with its debut. Up front, a new bumper features active air ducts while the rear gets new tail lights and a classic-looking grille on the engine lid.

It is now possible that the 992 will make its debut at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show along with the 911 GTS. In addition, expect all engines offered on the 911 to be turbocharged in order to meet emissions requirements while maintaining performance. The Boxster and Cayman will receive turbocharged four-cylinder powerplants while a small six-cylinder turbo will find its home in the 911.
