Sometime in the near future, Chevrolet will announce a new trim package for its Silverado half-ton pickup.

General Motors filed paperwork yesterday to trademark the name “Silverado Big Sky.” Currently Chevrolet offers seven trim levels for the Silverado ranging from the base “WT” to the “High Country” luxury trim that competes with Ford’s King Ranch and Rams’ Laramie Longhorn options.

Company spokesman James Bell wasn’t able to comment on the filing, which only covers the Silverado Big Sky name and doesn’t go into detail about equipment that will be part of the package.
