One of the world’s most exciting supercar manufacturers is planning an increased dealer presence in North America.

Koenigsegg – the company behind the blindingly quick Regera – is planning to have five authorized retailers in America by the end of the year, North American sales director Jens Sverdrup said. Last year, the company announced its first authorized U.S. dealer in New York City. Today the company announced that Lake Forrest Sports Cars of Chicago will be the next factory authorized retailer for the company in the U.S.

Earlier this week the Calgary Herald reported that Lamborghini Calgary will be selling Koenigsegg cars in the Canadian market. Canadians in Alberta have been enjoying economic prosperity on the high price of fuel up until prices sank late last year.

Koenigsegg introduced a new hybrid exotic during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show last week that it called the Regera. The company said its new “megacar” is capable of reaching 250 MPH in less than 20 seconds via a twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 in cooperation with a hybrid electric system and a single gear direct drive unit. The Regera’s total system output is supposedly 1,489 HP and 1,475 lb-ft of torque. Koenigsegg is also responsible for the Agera product line, of which a new product also debuted last week called the Agera RS. That car also uses a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8, but without electric motors to create 1,160 HP.

Sverdrup didn’t say where the next stores will be, but that they will be in “strategic important areas of America.”
