It’s the middle of summer and things sure are getting hot. And we’re not just talking about the weather. Check out all the hot cars we are testing this week, and follow our editors on Twitter to learn more.

2015 McLaren 650S – Mike Schlee Road Test Editor:

“Sometimes, I get to drive things that are really cool. Like, next level awesome. This is one of those weeks. From Tuesday to Thursday, I’ll be behind the wheel of the McLaren 650S Spider. With a turbocharged 3.8-liter V8 making 641 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque, the mid-engine supercar is bound to attract some attention. But does driving a supercar make you an instant celebrity?”

2015 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG:

“How do you make the already impressive, comparison-winning 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class better? AMG it. With a 4.0-liter turbocharged V8 producing 469 hp and 470 lb-ft. of torque sending power to the rear-wheels through a seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT transmission, the new C 63 AMG can hit 60 mph in a standstill in just four seconds flat.”

2016 Honda AccordJodi Lai, Managing Editor:

“I’ll be in California next week for two events: A Volkswagen tech day and the first drive of the 2016 Honda Accord. The Accord will be the trip’s highlight; it just got a mid-cycle refresh, so I’ll bring you my driving impressions as soon as I’m allowed to on Aug. 10 when the embargo lifts. In the meantime, keep an eye on my twitter account @DrivingMissJodi for live coverage of both events.”

2016 Subaru WRXSami Haj-Assaad, Features Editor:

“I’m getting my hands on the winner of last year’s under-$30k sporty car shootout to see if it’s still the top dog in cheap thrills. While the competition is as stiff as the WRX’s suspension setup, this Subie isn’t a slouch. A turbocharged flat-four engine makes 268 horsepower that gets sent to all four wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. It felt like a rocketship last year on the track, so it will be interesting to see how it feels against the latest entry in its segment.”

2016 Ford Mustang EcoBoost:

“That stiff competition I was talking about? The 2016 Ford Mustang EcoBoost. While its turbocharged four-cylinder engine may not sound like it belongs on a Mustang, everything else about the latest pony car is a sure hit. It will be interesting to see how it compares to the Subaru, mainly because it could seriously upset the winner of the under $30k sporty car shootout.”

2016 Ram 1500 RebelStephen Elmer, Truck Editor:

“I’m in the latest off-road focused truck the industry has to offer, the Ram 1500 Rebel. With a massive grille, beefed up suspension and a big ol’ Hemi V8, this truck is meant to conquer the mud and dirt and look completely badass while doing it. Hopefully my bank account can handle the fuel bill though…”

2016 Cadillac CTS-VCraig Cole, Associate Editor:

“This week, I get to sample the hot new Cadillac CTS-V. I’ll be evaluating it on hallowed ground, Road America, one of the fastest racetracks around. To say I’m excited is a gross understatement. Stay tuned for a full review and a video of the car.”
