Watch the BMW M4 GTS Do a Fast Lap of Nurburgring

The BMW M4 GTS was one of the coolest cars unveiled this year, and now you can watch it do a fast lap on the Nurburgring.

Although the commentary by the German engineer/driver is less than thrilling, as he sounds like he could just be coming out of a coma, his skillful driving is more than enough to keep you entertained. I’m actually amazed that he can stay so calm while driving one of the most infamous road courses in the world, but that’s why he’s a professional race driver and I’m not.

BMW M engineer Joerg Weidinger finishes the lap in 7 minutes and 28 seconds, faster than a Porsche Carrera GT, Pagani Zonda and Mercedes SLS AMG GT. Official lap times still aren’t allowed yet, but expect BMW to make an official attempt once the ban is lifted in the new year.

The BMW M4 GTS is powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine with 493 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque, a big boost over the regular M4’s 425-hp output. The M4 GTS can go from zero to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds and benefits from special water injection technology. Only 700 BMW M4 GTSs will be produced worldwide.
