The sedan segment is one of the most important in the entire auto industry and it’s chockablock with solid contenders.

Two rock-solid offerings in this market include the Ford Fusion and Subaru Legacy. The former offers all-wheel drive as an option, the latter comes standard with this traction-enhancing feature.

The Fusion is arguably one of the most stylish sedans available today. As for performance, its top engine is a 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder that puts out a stout 240 horsepower. It’s matched to a six-speed automatic transmission.

The Subaru Legacy is a fine midsize sedan from Japan. Its most muscular engine is a 3.6-liter boxer six that cranks out 256 ponies. The only gearbox available is continuously variable automatic.

Which of these family-friendly sedans would YOU rather have? Vote and let us know!

This is a dumb comparison. There are so many other mid size cars that consumers would consider that would be a better mid sized choice .Toyota Camry ,Honda Accord ,new Volvo sedan just to name a few . Just a few notes on the Fusion vs Subaru comparison . Subaru's have their quirks and are expensive to fix ,especially at a Subaru dealership .Parts are expensive .Fit and finish is excellent with high quality paint and interior materials . Fusion is cheaper to fix ,and parts are cheaper . Fit and finish could be better .The quality of materials and paint not up to par with the price of this car . You see even newer Fusions with rust issues .I have seen perforated rust on a 2010 fusion . Ford needs to do more on preventative measures for vehicle rust .

While I am fond of the looks of many Subaru models - even the quirky/goofy ones - the Legacy is just downright boring. Its looks remind me of an early Hyundai sedan.
