The Fast and the Furious Returning to Theaters to Celebrate 15th Anniversary
The Fast and the Furious is celebrating its 15th anniversary with a theatrical re-release.
In case you’re sitting there wondering if it has really been 15 years already since the original movie was released, it has. The series is currently filming the eighth movie in the franchise and on June 22, a limited nationwide run of The Fast and the Furious can be caught on the big screen. Unfortunately it’s a one-day event only, so if you never saw the original movie in theaters, now is the time.

The first movie was released in 2001 and went on to earn $207 million worldwide, which may not seem much, but it resulted in one of the biggest franchises in movie history. The latest entry, Fast 7 grossed over $1.3 billion worldwide. In total, the franchise’s movies have brought in over $3.9 billion worldwide.
Fast 8 is scheduled to arrive theaters on April 17, 2017. You can grab tickets for The Fast and the Furious theatrical re-release here.
