Scott Dixon and Dario Franchitti were robbed at gunpoint while at a Taco Bell drive-thru.

The robbery came hours just after Dixon captured the pole in the upcoming Indianapolis 500 race. News reports say Dixon, his wife and Franchitti were at a Taco Bell on West 16th Street when two young males approached Dixon’s car while it was in the drive-thru lane, shoved a gun in the window and stole Emma Davies-Dixon’s purse. The suspects then ran north on Berwick Avenue, but within minutes an IMPD officer saw a suspicious vehicle that was captured by the Taco Bell’s surveillance camera.

The suspected vehicle drove away just before the robbery and a half-hour later, officers pulled over a similar vehicle. The suspect fled, but was captured after being bit by an IMPD canine. The passenger was identified by the victims and the driver admitted his role in the robbery. Luckily Davies-Dixon’s purse and identification were recovered and no one was hurt.

Fox59 reports the suspected robbers are 14 and 15 years old.
