Contenders for 2018 North American Car, Truck and Utility Vehicle of the Year Unveiled
The contenders for the 2018 North American Car, Truck and Utility Vehicle of the Year have been announced.
To be eligible, a car must be entirely new or substantially changed for the 2018 model year, meaning refreshed vehicles or new variants of existing vehicles are not eligible for the award. Some vehicles will be released to the public too late for the voting process and will be considered for the award next year.
AutoGuide.com‘s Editor-in-Chief Jodi Lai is pleased to be one of 60 jury members this year who will be voting for the 2018 North American Car, Truck and Utility Vehicle of the Year winner. Jurors will vote based on overall excellence, innovation, design, value, significance, performance, technology, and safety. The shortlisted finalists are announced in November and the winners will be announced at the Detroit Auto Show in January.

I'm going to assume the Buick Regal and TourX were one of those available too late.
My emotional picks are the Alfa Romeo Guila, Alfa Romeo Stelvio, and Lincoln Navigator. My rational picks are the Toyota Camry, Audi Q5, and Lincoln Navigator. My dark horse picks are the Tesla Model 3, Honda Odyssey, and Ford Expedition.
