GAC Motor will once again have a display at the Detroit Auto Show.

The Chinese automaker will present its vehicle lineup featuring its existing sedan, SUV, minivan, and NEV in Detroit, along with a brand-new sedan and a concept car that will make their worldwide debuts. GAC Motor is participating at the Detroit Auto Show for the third time, and it’s the only Chinese automaker to do so, demonstrating the brand’s sincerity and determination to enter the North American market one day.

The sedan making its worldwide debut will be the GA4, a mainstream model built on the company’s own A-Class sedan platform. Joining it is the Enverge, a new energy concept designed for the North American market. The Enverge intends to show off GAC Motor’s “cutting-edge technologies and tremendous potential in the fields of vehicle electrification, networking and intelligent system.”

2018 Detroit Auto Show Coverage

Last year, GAC Motor reached its target annual sales goal of 500,000 units in China, while enjoying a 37.2 percent year-over-year increase. The company has received high-quality ratings from J.D. Power for five consecutive years and hopes by displaying its complete lineup in Detroit, it will showcase its strength as an international automaker.

“GAC Motor will present an update to its strategy in the U.S.market around brand, marketing as well as product at the NAIAS, offering a new blueprint as the company moves towards officially entering the market in 2019,” said Yu Jun, president of GAC Motor. “The American market has the strictest standards, laws and regulations, so entering it is a challenge as well as test for GAC Motor’s quality, technology and R&D capabilities. We believe that entering the North American market will drive GAC Motor to improve its R&D, product quality, brand influence and business management, while enabling us to integrate global resources in developed markets and further facilitate internationalization.”
