World's First Tesla Model S Wagon is Pretty Darn Ugly

Carbon fiber coachbuilding specialist QWest is showing off the world’s first Tesla-based production shooting brake.

Set to be shown at the Confused.com London Motor Show from May 17 to May 20, this Tesla Model S wagon looks more like a hearse rather than a sporty, shooting brake variant. QWest is one of a few companies looking to make a wagon version of the Model S, and we’re hoping the other ones come out better.

For some strange reason, QWest opted to make the rear end of its Model S shooting brake more square, with straight lines instead of a sleeker, rounded body. It is however, 7.4 cubic feet larger than the standard Model S sedan, while being over 26 pounds (12 kilograms) lighter due to the use of carbon fiber.

The Norfolk-based company is known for only using carbon fiber in its operations and looks forward to showing off the Tesla Shooting Brake at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre in May.

“This year’s London Motor Show is set to welcome more world firsts than ever before in our new home, and we’re delighted to have the world’s first Tesla-based Shooting Brake coming to the capital,” said Alec Mumford, chairman of the Confused.com London Motor Show. “This is a serious feat of engineering using the very latest technology, making it perfect for our enthusiastic audience. This isn’t a car to be missed at the show!”

It looks like a VW Golf Alltrack, haha. But seriously, you can see where they were trying really hard with the last 1/3 of the car, that misplaced swoop. They should have just committed to one design, not boxy on top and curvy on the bottom. It looks like it's having an identity crisis.
