Steven Tyler and legendary racer Emerson Fittipaldi will star in Kia’s Super Bowl 53 commercial, which will promote the new Stinger sedan.

In the commercial, Tyler gets behind the wheel of a Kia Stinger as Emerson Fittipaldi looks on in approval. The Stinger’s fun-loving ethos then transforms Tyler into a younger, more spritely version of himself. It’s a unique way to communicate to Super Bowl fans that the Stinger isn’t a run-of-the-mill Kia, and the 1970s era celebrities should appeal to those who actually have $40k to drop on a sports sedan.

“The Stinger is the dream car driving enthusiasts have been longing for with its head-turning design, premium amenities and heart-pounding power at an incredibly value-packed price,” said Kia USA marketing vice president Saad Chehab. “As one of the youngest mainstream car companies in the U.S., our youth – and the fearlessness that comes with it – is Kia’s strength, and the youthful mindset we share with Steven Tyler and Emerson Fittipaldi is on full display in our Super Bowl ad.”

You can watch the 60-second spot embedded below. It will air during the third-quarter of Super Bowl 53.

The commercial is weird. Driving backwards and he comes out younger...why?...for a Super Bowl ad

Weak? It's nonexistent! I think it was supposed to be a joke...

"who have $40,000 to drop on a sports sedan" You write that as if it were a lot of money. Compared to the numbers of Bimmers, Audis, Lexuses, etc that I see on the road, that's cheap.
