Hennessey Performance has created the world’s fastest Gen6 Chevrolet Camaro.

Called “The Exorcist,” the modified 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 features 1,000 horsepower and 966 pound-feet of torque, more than enough to take on the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. And to prove just how impressive those performance figures are, Hennessey teamed up with Continental Tires and driver Brian Smith from the Ford Performance School to set a new top speed record for the Camaro at 217 mph.

Believe it or not, The Exorcist is a turnkey vehicle that can be ordered directly from Chevrolet dealerships and current Camaro ZL1 owners can send their vehicles to HPE for the conversion. The engine upgrade and graphics cost $55,000 and includes a limited two-year, 24,000-mile warranty. At the time of its introduction, Hennessey said The Exorcist is capable of going zero-to-60 mph in under three seconds and tears down the quarter mile in less than 10 seconds. But now we know it has a top speed of at least 217 mph.
