A mysterious new Cadillac coupe model has been revealed through patent drawings from the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

The renderings, first revealed by the GM-obsessed folks over at GM Authority, show a sleek Cadillac two-door model that appears to be heavily inspired by the Cadillac Escala concept. The most interesting part is the rear, where a large diffuser with four integrated exhaust tips takes up much of the real estate. The diffuser, along with the extra wide hips, are evidence that the coupe has been designed with performance in mind.

Cadillac doesn’t have a coupe in its product plans, but that doesn’t mean it couldn’t surprise us. After all, it needs more exciting products, and this car is just begging to receive its new 550 hp 4.2-liter twin-turbocharged V8. But while a production version of this coupe would certainly be cool, it’s more likely that we’re looking at a concept or styling exercise for the upcoming Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

We’ll have to wait and see to know for sure.
