Mercedes-Benz EQ C Electric Crossover Caught Testing Again
The Mercedes-Benz EQ C electric crossover has been caught testing once again.
These spy shots give us an up-close-and-personal look at the EQ C, which will be Mercedes-Benz’s first mass-produced electric vehicle (not counting the Smart ForTwo EV). It’s clear looking at this prototype that the battery pack will be mounted low down in the EQ C’s structure, as the bottom of the vehicle appears a bit bulbous and swollen – especially in the rear. The design is otherwise similar to other new Mercedes’ crossovers, such as the GLC and upcoming new GLE.

Powering the GLC, according to rumors, will be a 300 kW rear-mounted motor. In all-wheel-drive models, the 300 kW motor will allegedly be joined by either a 90 kW or 150 kW front-mounted motor. The crossover will also get regenerative braking and torque vectoring. As for range, expect it to be on par with the Porsche Taycan’s 310 miles (500 km), although the real-world driving range may be less than this. The vehicle rides on Mercedes’ EVA platform, which is an evolution of the MRA platform currently found in the C-Class, GLC and other Mercedes products.
Prices for the EQ C should start at around $110,000 USD. We’re expecting it to debut next year before going on sale later in the year as a 2020 model.

Sorry, At 110 there will be few takers. I believed they would bring this at 75/80 loaded. PHEV GLC might be better for 70, if you use it to just increase mileage for around town.
