2019 Hyundai Kona and Ram 1500 Win North American Utility and Truck of the Year

The newest subcompact crossover from Hyundai and the fully redesigned Ram 1500 have won the North American Utility and Truck of the year awards, presented this morning at the 2019 Detroit Auto Show.

The Hyundai Kona impressed jurors with its style and fun driving dynamics, presenting an affordable car that doesn’t ever feel like it. It’s also offered with a number of powertrains including a fully electric model with a lot of range.

The Truck of the Year award went to the Ram 1500, which has been completely redesigned for 2019. This generation of the truck is offered with a ton of interesting technology including a mild-hybrid powertrain. It also features an impressively luxurious interior with a massive touchscreen.

Jurors voted based on overall excellence, innovation, design, value, significance, performance, technology, and safety.
