Lexus lightly updates the ES for 2024.

It can be easy to forget about the Lexus ES, but it’s steadfastly stayed on the market since the early 1990s. Front-wheel-drive and Toyota Camry based, the ES has stayed on the market as other competitors have fallen away. Now, for 2024 Lexus has given the luxury sedan a few updates.

The biggest update to the 2024 Lexus ES is its upgraded technology features. The ES now offers a new Technology Package. The package adds a bigger 12.3-inch screen, a Smartkey access card, a head-up display, and the Lexus Interface infotainment system. The package can be ordered on the base, Luxury, F Sport Design, and F Sport handling trims, but pricing hasn’t been announced yet.

Also, a new 18-inch Vapor Chrome wheel design is available on the Ultra Luxury trim. Pricing is up slightly. The 2024 Lexus ES starts at $43,190, including destination, for an increase of $700.

Otherwise, the ES is about the same as it was before. Power comes from one of three powertrains – a 2.5-liter four-cylinder (and all-wheel drive, standard) mated to an eight-speed automatic producing 203 horsepower for the ES250. For the ES300h, a 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid powers the car, good for 215 horsepower. The ES350 uses 302-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 with an eight-speed automatic.

Even though the ES doesn’t match the rear-wheel-drive verve of some competitors like the BMW 3 or 5 series, that hasn’t stopped the ES from finding homes. The Lexus ES is the brand’s best-selling sedan. It outsells the rear-wheel-drive Lexus IS and LS. The ES is quiet, refined, and stylish.
