The 2013 Range Rover went on sale in December, 2012 and now most Land Rover dealerships in the country are sold out of the new SUV until summer.

Dropping 700 lbs, and adding even more luxury features, the 2013 Range Rover was just unveiled at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.

Gracing the halls of the Paris Motor Show today, the 2013 Range Rover with its lightweight aluminum chassis stood for all to see.

After the debut earlier this week of the 2013 Range Rover, it has now been revealed that at the base trim level the luxury SUV will cost $83,500, representing a $4,000 price increase over the previous model. 

Despite having already made its official debut, there are still versions of the 2013 Range Rover under wraps that our shooters caught  spy photos of. 

Earlier this month, the 2013 Range Rover officially debuted with the announcement of a diesel hybrid variant coming later in the year. It’s now been confirmed that America won’t be seeing the diesel hybrid, at least not anytime soon.

With the Range Rover, Land Rover has always had a premium offering in the upscale SUV market, but now with added competition the English marque is planning on pushing into a higher snack bracket.

Land Rover will roll out yet another improvement to its Range Rover models next year, introducing an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard equipment in North America. Manufactured by ZF, this is the same unit currently being used by BMW and Audi and is set to be offered in several Chrysler products in the near future.

The next generation Range Rover is due out in 2012 and according to a new report by AutoCar, it will be drastically different – although it might not necessarily look that way. The biggest change planned is that the fully-capable luxury SUV will ride on an all new platform similar to that used for the new XJ. It will be all aluminum, which, when combined with the use of composite body panels, will cut close to 992 lbs (450 kg) from the overall mass of the vehicle.
