Patrolling the southern U.S. border with Mexico is a dangerous job. Not only do agents have to content with (sometimes dangerous) people trying to cross it illegally, but also all manner of wildlife, as well as vast expanses of  remote and rugged terrain.

According to a recent press release from Ford Motor Company; the 2011 Super Duty is currently accounting for 50 percent of total heavy-duty pickup sales in the United States.

Ford has finally announced pricing for the new EcoBoost V6-powered 2011 F-150, with the truck stickered at $25,740 before options and taxes – some $1,750 more than the new base truck equipped with the 3.7-liter V6.

Although Mike McCarthy’s officially endorsed Ford F-150 Baja 1000 race truck, powered by Ford’s 3.5-liter EcoBoost twin turbo V6 has been getting a lot of press lately, there’s another outfit that’s been diligently working on their own rig. At the recent IAA Commercial Vehicle Expo in Hanover, Germany; MBtech a subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz unveiled a striking concept truck called the Reporter.

Ford is claiming that the new 2011 F-150 will get best in class fuel economy despite no EPA verified mileage figures. Ford states that the 3.7L V6 model will return 16 mpg in town and 23 mpg on the highway. By comparison a 2011 Ram with a 3.7L V6 will get 14 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway.

It’s been the talk of the town ever since it’s introduction. Now, for 2011; Ford‘s F-150 SVT Raptor, joined by a crew cab version and powered by Ford’s 6.2-liter V8 rated at 411 horsepower, is more tantalizing than ever.
