Gulf Racing swag makes great gifts for any car enthusiast in your life.

Even if you’re not into motorsports, you’ll probably recognize the Gulf Oil racing livery: The iconic baby blue and orange livery is arguably one of the most famous and recognizable ones out there.

Although Gulf Oil has been associated with racing since the 1930s, they didn’t start using its famous blue and orange colors until the late 1960s, which were somewhat of a booming time for motorsports. Every time a cool car like an old 911 or Ford GT comes out in the Gulf livery, we nerd out a little because they look so freaking cool and we love the nostalgia. Gulf Racing swag makes great gifts for any car enthusiast in your life. Here, we’ve picked out Gulf Racing products we’d never regift if we got them as gifts. We might even buy some of these for ourselves.

1. Editor's Pick: Gulf Le Mans White Racing Jacket

We have come to the consensus that driving gloves are not that cool, but you can’t deny how badass you’d feel wearing this Le Mans racing jacket that’s just like the one Steve McQueen wore in the Le Mans movie. This canvas jacket has just the right amount of retro nostalgia without being tacky or too extra. Lucky for us, bomber-style jackets are also having a moment right now, so even if you’re not into racing, this will still look great.

There’s also a leather version if you’re looking for something warmer. People who have bought the jacket like the fit and the soft leather, but did note that the patches are sewn on an angle. The leather one is backed by a 100% money back guarantee with a 30-day exchange/return policy.

2. Porsche 917K with Gulf Livery Model Cars

A better gift for a nerdier motorsports or Porsche fan, these 1:43 model cars are an official Porsche product. This set comes with two models, the number 25 that didn’t place and the number 24 that won the 1970 1000km of Spa-Francorchamps. These would look great on a bookshelf.

3. Gulf Oil Hot Wheels

As an option that’s a bit more affordable, Hot Wheels has a few 1:64 scale models with Gulf livery on them for the kids in your life (or just nerdy adults) who might enjoy something they can actually play with.

There’s a Ford GT, an HW Racing Fast Fish, a Corvette ZR1, and, of course, the legendary Porsche 917 LH. Also, OMG, there is also a Gulf-liveried Ford Transit Van!! Someone, please buy this cargo van for me. Please.

A lot of people think you shouldn’t take these Hot Wheels out of their packaging, but what fun is that?

4. Retro Posters

Part of the reason why I like Gulf stuff so much is that it’s retro and it suits my aesthetic. This art poster is a great example. A fantastic art print of the Porsche 917 that raced at the Paris 1000km in 1971 by Derek Bell and Gijs van Lennep, the artist actually has a few prints that are signed by the drivers themselves! These art prints are 24 x 18 inches, are printed on high-quality photo paper, and are available with a certificate of authenticity.

5. Gulf Racing Polo Shirt

This shirt may be a bit extra, but on the right occasion, it could be really cool. Maybe wear it to race day or whatever bar you frequent to watch racing — your car enthusiasts friends will probably be kind of jealous. The shirt has a patch featuring the Porsche 908/3 that won the Targa Florio in 1970 driven by Jo Stiffert and Brian Redman. There are a lot of cool details on this polo and it’s made out of a stain-resistant, odor fighting, wrinkle and shrink resistant, 50/50 cotton/polyester fabric. It’s also made in the USA is the material is officially licensed from Gulf Oil, so you know it’s legit.
