At first there was the Ariel Atom. An undisputed piece of machinery that terrorized the tracks worldwide. It was simply a sheer pleasure to navigate through the roads. Then came KTM’s X-Bow which was the perfect Ariel Atom rival. And one can even include the Lotus 2-Eleven among their ranks. These two-seaters are essentially glorified go-karts with real-world engines in a 1,600 lb (or so) carbon fiber shell.

Now another manufacturer has decided to enter the ring with their P1 Two-Seater. Donto Motor Company has finally unveiled photos of their project which sports an interesting split body with a floating exoskeleton. The FIA-approved chassis weighs in under 1,600 lbs with a removable roof.

Currently they’re utilizing Audi’s 1.8T as an engine setup, but Donto hasn’t committed to it as being the final powerplant. They did, however, confirm that if they were to change, it would still be something German engineered.

Donto plans to export this car as a street legal vehicle in Europe with pricing around $55,000. We’ll keep our eyes out for live photos!
