Joining the new 2012 Charger SRT8 Super Bee at the LA Auto Show will be the official unveiling of another shocking yellow creation, the Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 Yellow Jacket. Painted Stinger Yellow, it’s powered by the impressive new 6.4-liter Hemi V8 with 470-hp and 470 lb-ft of torque, and is capable of hitting 60 mph in the 4.0 second range with a top speed of 182-mph.

Other performance goodies include a two-stage adaptive damping suspension system, steering wheel mounted paddle shifters (automatic models), as well as 20-inch wheels. The adaptive damping suspension adjusts the firmness of the shocks in “Auto” mode based on factors like speed, steering angle, brake pressure, throttle pressure and both lateral and vertical acceleration. In a “Sport” mode it delivers the stiffer possible setting.

Styling highlights are extensive with a black grille surround, black body-side stripes and a Yellow Jacket logo, while inside are black leather seats with a Stinger Yellow band and embroidered Yellow Jacket logo.

“The Challenger SRT8 392 Yellow Jacket adds another piece of performance car nostalgia to our rear-drive muscle coupe lineup in 2012,” said Ralph Gilles, President and CEO – SRT Brand and Motorsports. “The Stinger Yellow paint and interior accents speak directly to the performance enthusiast who appreciates a memorable and collectible color that helps deliver even more excitement and exclusivity.”

Look for the Challenger SRT8 392 Yellow Jacket to hit dealers in the first quarter of 2012.
