2010 2011 nissan sentras recalled for stall and crash risk

A recall alert has been issued out by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on more than 33,800 Nissan Sentras from 2010 and 2011 model years. These Sentras may be equipped with faulty battery terminals that can cause an unexpected engine stall while the vehicle is moving.

Subsequently the flaw can also prevent the driver from restarting the engine, increasing the risk of a crash. Those with 2010-2011 Nissan Sentras equipped with the MR20 engine that were made in May 2010 and July-October 2010 are those affected by the issue. The recall problem is the result of zinc coating being applied to the battery terminal posts too thickly during the manufacturing process. As a result, a voltage drop can occur from the extra coating making it difficult to start the car or even damage the car’s engine control module.

Nissan will be contacting customers by January 23rd, 2012 and local dealerships will replace the faulty battery terminals free of charge. Concerned owners can also contact Nissan at 800-647-7261.

I AM NOT SURPRISED AT THE FAULTY WORKS OF NISSAN. RECENTLY I LOST THE USE OF MY 2007 NISSAN PATHFINDER DUE TO THE RADIATOR LEAKING FLUID INTO THE TRANSMISSION. MY TRUCK IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD WITH 83,000 MILES ON IT AND THE TRANSMISSION IS GONE!!!!! ACCORDING TO THE REGIONAL SPECIALIST AT NISSAN, THEY ARE "FULLY AWARE OF THE PROBLEM." BUT YET IN STILL THEY ARE REFUSING TO FIX MY SUV OR ANYONE ELSE'S THAT IS NOT CURRENTLY COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. WHEN I SEARCHED ONLINE FOR OTHERS WHO MIGHT BE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE, HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS SURFACED!!!! THE FUNNY THING IS THAT EVERYONE DEALING WITH THE ISSUE HAD THE SAME PATTERN OF SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS WITH THEIR PATHFINDER AND EVERYONE HAD THERE OR ABOUT, THE SAME NUMBER OF MILES ON THEIR VEHICLES AS WELL; 82,000-96,000 MILES. NISSAN DID A RECALL ON THE RADIATOR UP TO 80,000 MILES BUT AGAIN, EVERYONE HAVING ISSUES HAS SURPASSED THAT NUMBER OF MILES BY JUST A THOUSAND MILES OR SO. THE ESTIMATE THAT I HAVE TO FIX MY PATHFINDER IS $4700.00!!!!!! LET'S NOT FORGET THAT I AM STILL MAKING PAYMENTS ON A CAR THAT I CAN NOT DRIVE!!!! ALSO, THE MAIN COMPLAINTS STARTED WITH 2005 PATHFINDERS. SO IT IS OBVIOUS THERE IS A DESIGN FLAW HERE THAT NISSAN IS NOT ETHICALLY WILLING TO ACCEPT AS A COMPANY . BUYER BEWARE, DO NOT TRADE IN YOUR VEHICLES FOR A PATHFINDER NOR SHOULD YOU PURCHASE A NISSAN PATHFINDER. YOU WILL ONLY BE STUCK WITH A LEMON!!!

whoever you purchased the car from is the one who should be guiding you as what to do also all these people should file theyre complaint with the better business bureau did you buy an extended warranty this is why a manufacturer gives you only 3 yrs 36.000 miles if nothing else is extended thats a clue to buy it
