2013 Volvo C30 Polestar Edition Announced With 250 HP
A brand known for safety is trying to break the stereotypes, as Volvo announced today that it will build a limited run of C30 Polestar Limited Edition cars.
Polestar is the Swedish brand’s in-house tuning company, equivalent to AMG or the M division at BMW, and we have already seen their work on the S60 Polestar.
The C30 Polestar uses the same 2.5-liter turbocharged 5-cylinder as the standard car, but receives a power boost of 23 horsepower and 37 lb-ft of torque, taking the car’s total output to 250 hp and 273 lb-ft. Surprisingly, the car retains the same fuel economy as the regular variant, getting 21 mpg city/29 mpg highway with the six-speed manual transmission and 21 mpg city/30 mpg highway with the optional five-speed Geartronic automatic.
The sportiness is further increased by the sport chassis the car is built on. Compared to the standard C30 T5, spring stiffness is increased by 30 percent, steering is improved with a 10 percent faster steering ratio, and the dampers improved offering a 20 percent increase in low-speed damping.
To give the limited edition a unique look, it gets 17-inch Styx alloy wheels with matte black finish, exterior Polestar badging, and a unique exterior hue of Rebel Blue which will be the only option available on every C30 Polestar built. The interior gets leather seats with a choice of off-black or two-tone off-black and calcite seating surfaces. Premium features that carry over from the C30 T5 R-Design include power glass sunroof, power driver’s seat with memory, soft loadcover, auto-dimming rearview mirror with compass, power passenger’s seat, LED daytime running lights, keyless Drive and active dual Xenon headlights.
A platinum trim level is also available which bumps up the media capabilities with a 10 speaker, 650 watt stereo, and a navigation system with SiriusXM capability.
Volvo will build 250 examples of the C30 Polestar, which will go on sale in November with a base MSRP of $32,445.

What a shame that,the C 30 is being cancelled out.I recently,bought a 2010 C30 T 5 R Design and "What,a Car! I was planning to buy a New C30 in 2 years but,...Now What? I've owned such a variety of cars over the last 47 years,"Muscle Cars,Tuner,Sport Cars,etc." but, the Volvo C30 is the First Brand - Model,I can honestly say,I'd buy again & again & again! So,I again ask; "Now What"!!! A GM Product? I've owned GM "Junk" before.No Thanks!
