It’s another German luxury car you can’t have, but the facelift it shows in these spy photos will still translate to U.S. models.

BMW debuted the current 5 Series in 2009 and is already planning its refresh. As these photos show, the car will get the typical front- and rear-end tweaks with a more aggressive look. The headlights could move in to touch the double kidney grille like they already do on the 3 Series.

The air intakes are also likely to be revised, but the biggest change will come under the hood with the 535i. BMW will replace the old turbocharged, direct-injected N55 straight six with a new turbo six-cylinder.
