Apart from previewing some of what Porsche might look to in its future mechanically, the Sport Turismo concept was a look into explicit styling cues aimed at upcoming cars.

Apart from its obvious station wagon body, the car showcased dramatic-looking head and taillights that will find their way into other Porsche models soon.

“These headlights will be the next generation of lights within Porsche, as with the rear. These three dimensional rear lights you will find with the Macan,” Porsche CEO Matthias Müller said to Motor Trend. “And in the front, with the four ‘eyes’, this is also our idea for the future…across the brand.”

With the latest generation 911 sports car, the 991, Porsche already made its famous sports car larger with mild style tweaks like LED accents. Its taillights also got thinner, wider and more sweeping, but the lights seen above will represent one of the biggest stylistic changes to the 911’s lights since the 996 series came about in 1998.
