Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series Clay Model Sculpted in Video

Earlier this month, Mercedes-Benz unveiled its SLS AMG Black Series model boasting a 6.3-liter V8 powerplant with 622 hp and 468 lb-ft of torque.

But it’s not just the additional power that makes the Black Series models famous. It’s the radical and more aggressive styling that truly sets them apart from their standard model counterparts, and the SLS AMG Black Series is no exception. It surely helps that the SLS also sheds some weight with enhanced aerodynamics, helping it hit 62 mph from a standstill in just 3.6 seconds.

Before there was a production model though, there was a clay model of the SLS AMG Black Series. With the aim of providing the first complete impression of what the production vehicle will look like, the German automaker constructed a 1:1 clay model, which was recorded in a time lapse video that can be seen below.
