Christmas is all but here and with the end of the year at hand, many dealerships are in full swing with their holiday sale events.

In much the same fashion, AutoGuide.com’s new car buying section is bustling with traffic as people click around to compare new car prices and specs.

This week, one of the most researched vehicles was the 2013 Toyota Yaris, which can be had for as little as $14,370. Next, the 2013 Ford Escape, which despite suffering early recalls remains a popularly searched vehicle.

Next, the 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid. Ford recently pointed out that its new C-Max is selling faster than Toyota’s mid-size hybrid, but the Japanese car was more popular this week in terms of search queries.

Then there is the Buick Regal. Available with either a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated four cylinder or a turbocharged 2.0-liter unit, the Regal starts at $29,015 and can run up to $34,908.

Finally, the city-friendly Smart ForTwo made the list. Despite having about as much in common with most other cars as a five-year-old’s Power Wheels, the Smart ForTwo offers a compelling package for city dwellers who don’t carry much cargo or many people. With a starting MSRP of $12,490, it’s a cheap transportation solution that can make sense in densely-populated cities.
