The Lexus RC will be making its public debut at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show and will arrive U.S. dealerships in late 2014.

The new coupe model from the Japanese automaker is now believed to be replacing the IS coupe and will be based on the LF-CC concept. The standard RC model will be powered by the same 3.5-liter V6 engine with 306 horsepower that’s found in the IS and GS sedans.

The Lexus RC is also rumored to get the automaker’s first turbo engine. As for a hybrid variant, it will be sold in Japan and Europe but not the U.S. Coming in early 2014 at the Detroit Motor Show will be a high-performance RC-F model, which AutoGuide‘s spy photographers recently captured as the IS-F coupe.

According to an insider at Lexus, the RC-F will be powered by a V8 engine with 460 horsepower, but recent reports state that Lexus is planning to steer away from a V8 powerplant due to Euro6 standards.
