Lexus Bringing Small SUV Concept to 2013 Tokyo Motor Show

Lexus is preparing a small SUV concept for the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, a model that will slot in underneath its existing RX SUV.

At the recent 2013 Detroit Motor Show, executive vice president of Lexus International, Kazuo Ohara, confirmed that the Japanese automaker is working on a small SUV and feels that it’s a necessity to continue expanding the brand internationally.

The exec also confirmed that a concept will debut later this year Lexus is hoping that it’ll be at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show which kicks off in late November.

Details are sparse, but the smallish SUV could be based on the Toyota RAV4 but feature the new generation of Lexus styling that has been so prominent on all its new models, including the recently debuted 2014 IS.
