AutoGuide‘s spy photographers have caught the Range Rover Sport R-S testing on the Nurburgring.

The high-performance Range Rover Sport model is expected to have around 550 hp from a supercharged V8 engine. These recent photos reveal a quad exhaust that has been fitted on the SUV and what appears to be a space for a possible rear diffuser. The front bumper sports massive air intakes while the hood has air outlets.

The Range Rover Sport R-S is expected to hit dealerships later in 2014. Currently, the most powerful Range Rover Sport model has a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine with 510 hp. The same powerplant is used in the Jaguar XFR-S, but there it sports 550 hp and 502 lb-ft of torque. Expect that iteration of the engine to make an appearance in the Range Rover Sport R-S.
