With the exception of one German car, the five most popularly searched vehicles this week were all Japanese.

Mind you, the most popular of those was Audi’s 2014 Q5 crossover, which is available in enough variety to prompt a tip of the hat from both Ben and Jerry. How better to drive a chunky monkey over that rocky road? Shopping for a Q5 can lead you to owning a turbocharged four cylinder, supercharged six, a hybrid, a diesel and even the sport tuned SQ5. It won’t be a cheap journey, but it will be a comfortable one if Audi’s salesmen succeed.

The all-new 2014 Mazda6 mid-size sedan came in second place and also offers a stylish albeit more affordable package. Toyota’s new generation Corolla followed it closely with the third most inquiries. The body is new, but the drivetrain stays mostly the same with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine.

An absolute volume king, the 2014 Honda Accord brought up fourth place. Honda is marketing a new hybrid version of the Accord this year that promises to offer up to 50 mpg.

Finally, the Mazda CX-5 took fifth place. Offered with either an automatic or manual transmission as well as the choice between a 2.0- or 2.5-liter four cylinder engine.
