Honda is finally listening to its critics by releasing a factory supercharger kit for its unique CR-Z hybrid, aiming to bump up the cars performance and credibility.

With the help of the Honda Performance Development division, the CR-Z will make about 200 hp with the supercharger, finally giving it the firepower it needs to compete in the hot-hatch segment.

Honda’s Performance division showcased the updated hatchback at the 2013 SEMA show with additional parts including sport dampers, coil springs, larger disc brakes and HDP 18-inch wheels matched to Michelin Pilot Sport tires.

While the supercharger itself won’t be available until spring next year, you can drool over the specs in the video below.

The supercharger will make 200 hp. Come on man. A Hyundai Veloster Turbo hits 208 hp and cost $23k. Adding the cost of the SC and labor you could be looking at $5k or more.
