Formula E is the FIA’s electric racing series and the global organization just announced that its new headquarters will be located at Donington Park Racing Circuit in the United Kingdom.

Construction began early last month on a new 44,000 square-foot facility that will provide the 10 Formula E teams with office space, stores and workshops. The structure should be able to accommodate more than 150 people.

Like just about everything these days the facility will be earth-friendly and comply with sustainable construction standards, something that’s obviously in line with the goals of Formula E.

The series features electric, single-seat racecars that can reach speeds of 225 km/h (140 miles an hour) or more. The 10 teams each have two drivers and will compete head to head in a totally unique series.

Starting in September Formula E will host races in 10 cities around the world including Miami, London, Beijing and Rio de Janeiro.
