Ferrari 149M Project Teased Before February 12 Debut

Ferrari is teasing what could be the latest version of its “entry-level” hardtop convertible: the California.

Then again, that isn’t really clear because the rumor is spreading after the image shown above appeared online. Given the fact that the current California is internally codenamed F149, it makes sense that the car set to debut would be a modified version of the current California.

Past rumors suggest that it will use a modified version of the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 used in the Maserati Quattroporte, but tuned to make about 550 hp.

Regardless, the debut is scheduled for next week so there isn’t long to wait.

Update: A Ferrari spokeswoman confirmed that information regarding a debut at the Geneva Motor Show will be released on February 12 but declined to provide further details.
