The slow reveal of the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT continues, though this time the company did not show us anything.

Rather, three videos have been released by Mercedes that allow us to hear the engine at start up as well as under light and heavy revs. Although it is not confirmed, expect a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with around 600 hp under the hood, hooked up to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

This is the second vehicle in the German company’s lineup to be developed fully by Mercedes-AMG, following the SLS, and it is aiming to take on the Porsche 911. “The new Mercedes-AMG GT proves that we will be positioning AMG as a dynamic sports car brand even more strongly and aggressively than before,” said Mercedes-AMG CEO Tobias Moers.

Mercedes has said that performance numbers will be announced in July before the car’s full debut in August, possibly during the Pebble Beach Concourse d’Elegance.
