Today Chrysler announced that it will recall roughly 22,100 small cargo vans because the side airbags could inadvertently deploy.

Following 25 reports of unexpected side airbag deployment in its Ram C/V Tradesman commercial vans, the company told the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that it will initiate a recall campaign. The front passenger side curtain and seat airbags in affected vehicles could be set off after the vehicle drives over road hazards including potholes.

Chrysler said it will update the software that controls the airbags to address the defect. Affected models were built between July 25, 2012, and August 20, 2014 and have two bucket seats for front passengers.
