It appears Nissan is giving its venerable GT-R another update.

Recently spied testing by AutoGuide.com‘s spy photographers, the Japanese automaker is testing a GT-R model with a revamped front end with both grille openings now sporting new aerodynamics. It’s unclear whether this is the 2016 Nissan GT-R getting a moderate refresh before the company moves onto the next-generation R36 model or if the company is readying a GT-R Final Edition of sorts.

There’s also the possibility that this spied GT-R is a mule for the R36 as automakers do have a tendency to outfit current models with a different front end for testing purposes.
