Rumors are surfacing again that Apple is looking to take on everyone from BMW to Tesla with its own car.

According to a recent report from Reuters, the tech giant is hiring automotive technology and design experts as it is filling up a “top-secret research lab” that will possibly lay the foundation to build its own car.

The caveat to the rumor is the fact that Apple is working on CarPlay and the recruiting could just be for employees to help develop the in-car entertainment system. It is suggested that Apple is looking beyond just infotainment systems as the background and seniority of the executives its searching for points towards building a car.
