2016 Jaguar F-Type Priced With a Third Pedal

Jaguar just announced pricing for its newly expanded lineup of F-Type sports cars.

The British brand’s two-seater starts at $65,995 for the base six-cylinder coupe, which is the same base MSRP as the automatic-only 2015 model. Meanwhile, the automatic model climbs to $67,295 including delivery. Aside from adding a ZF-sourced six-speed manual, the F-Type also gains optional all-wheel drive this year. The range tops out at $107,445 for the F-Type R Convertible, which replaces the V8 S convertible.

Models with all-wheel drive are restricted to using the automatic transmission and starting in 2016, the F-Type Coupe R will be available exclusively with all-wheel drive. That’s probably a blessing because the 550-hp supercharged V8 powertrain it uses was almost unmanageable with only two driven wheels.

Jaguar is also increasing the level of content it offers by making its panoramic roof part of the standard equipment list along with a 770-watt Meridian stereo, keyless entry and . S and R models also now come with an adaptive suspension by default. The S trim level also comes with “dynamic mode,” a flat-bottom steering wheel and the active exhaust without an up-charge.

The 2016 model year also brings a new infotainment system that will allow owners to control certain aspects of the car from their smartphone and, ostensibly, an improved user interface. That’s an especially good thing because the F-Type – and all Jaguars – currently suffer from a miserably outdated touchscreen interface. Along with the new “InControl” system, Jaguar also replaced the gauges and presumably replaced the low resolution screen that sat between them in the preceding model years.
