Shelby GT350 Mustang to Pack Over 520 HP
The Shelby GT350 Mustang will produce over 100 horsepower per liter.
At a recent event at Texas World Speedway, Ford showed off the Shelby GT350 Mustang and Shelby/Boss brand manager Jim Owens spilled some details on the upcoming sports car. Owens confirmed that the GT350 will actually have a redline of 8,250 RPM and the 5.2-liter engine will generate over 520 hp. The car will be heading to dealerships “earlier in the fourth quarter,” said Owens, adding “we haven’t divulged the model year yet and there is a reason for that.”

When the new Mustang first debuted, Ford kicked it off with a limited edition 2014.5 model and it is likely that the Shelby GT350 will get a similar treatment. Owens wouldn’t give an exact number as to how many Shelby GT350s will be produced, though he did say that the figure will be between the production numbers of the Boss 302 and the current GT500.
