Turns out that Jeremy Clarkson won’t be back on the BBC after all, at least for now.

The former Top Gear host was scheduled to appear on the BBC’s satirical news quiz show Have I got News For You later this month, but the show’s producer has confirmed that Clarkson has dropped out.

“On reflection, Jeremy Clarkson has decided not to host Have I Got News For You. We fully expect him to resume his hosting duties later in the year,” said Jimmy Mulville, managing director of Hat Trick Productions which produces the show.

Clarkson was dropped from Top Gear after he assaulted producer Oisin Tymon, leaving Tymon with a split lip and swelling. Despite being fired from the show, Clarkson is not banned from appearing on the BBC.

Good decision by Jezza. BBC is like a bad tooth that needs to be pulled out of Clarkson's life already.
