Infiniti QX Sport Inspiration breaks cover ahead of 2016 Beijing Auto Show

Infiniti has released a shadowy teaser of a new concept that is set to debut at the 2016 Beijing Auto Show.

The QX Sport Inspiration concept teases Infiniti’s vision for a future mid-size SUV from the brand. It uses Infiniti’s “powerful elegance” design language that is reminiscent of what we saw on the Q60 concept.

“With a flowing, natural aesthetic, this concept demonstrates how Infiniti can offer something new and exciting with future QX SUV models,” said Alfonso Albaisa, Infiniti executive design director.

The new concept will debut on April 25 in Beijing.

Something tells me this is either the 2019 QX70 (S52) or 2018 QX50 (J51). Head of Nissan Motor Design, Shiro Nakamura stated in September 2013 the QX70 would have to grow in size, that it wasn't finished yet back then. Last year it was said, it had been pushed back to late 2018. A refreshed 2017 QX70 is already going on sale in July, so this wouldn't be out next year. The next QX50 was already designed by September 2014 according to Shiro Nakamura 18 months ago and the work of a Renault designer. I think this is the MY2018 QX50 in abstract form, as the facelift MY2016 was designed quite early by 2012 and barely released last fall. The next generation will probably be out in late 2017.
