Infiniti QX Sport Inspiration's Design Evolves for European Debut

The Infiniti QX Sport Inspiration concept has made its European debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show sporting a new look.

Originally introduced at the 2016 Beijing Motor Show earlier this year in April, the concept has several new design elements as it further hints at a future Infiniti mid-sized premium SUV model. Finished in a sleek matte grey, 22-inch wheels adorn each corner, which are larger than the 21-inch wheels first seen on the concept. The rollers are finished in a new bronze color that can also be seen on the brake calipers. Also changed for its Paris debut is new dark brown leather elements inside the cabin, contrasting the predominantly black and white leather scheme.

Inspired by the Japanese automaker’s Powerful Elegance design language, the concept features taut lines, short overhangs and muscular haunches, delivering a purposeful aura that hints at the model’s dynamic capability. It also promises off-road versatility with 9.1 inches [230 mm] of ground clearance. Overall, the concept measures approximately 74.8 inches [1,900 mm] wide, 181 inches [4,600 mm] long and 64.9 inches [1,650 mm] tall.

2016 Paris Motor Show Coverage

Riding on a 110.2-inch [2,800 mm] wheelbase, the concept comfortably seats four, while a fifth seat in the center of the rear bench is available if necessary. Although the overall footprint of the car is compact and it sports a coupe-like roofline, the floating front and rear seats allow more space on the floor of the cabin.

“The QX Sport Inspiration is a statement of intent from Infiniti, showcasing a daring design philosophy and a demonstration of our capabilities in the mid-size SUV segment,” said Roland Krueger, president of Infiniti.
