The new Volvo V90 Cross Country is making its rounds sporting heavy duty camouflage.

We can see that the rugged version of Volvo’s wagon has a much higher ride height than the standard V90 and like the old XC70, the new Volvo V90 Cross Country will get different bumpers for a more off-road-inspired appearance.

The wider fenders will likely be finished in matte grey or black and it appears that the roof rails up top will be more pronounced, further strengthening the off-road styling. Larger wheels and tires will round off the difference between the V90 and the V90 Cross Country.

Although it may seem like the obvious choice to offer all the same powerplants on the V90 Cross Country as the V90, the Swedish automaker will likely only use the more powerful engines on the Cross Country variant. Also on the list should be a plug-in hybrid variant.

Now that the 2017 Volvo V90 has been officially introduced, expect to see the Volvo V90 Cross Country bow early next year.
