The next-generation Nissan Micra is getting serious changes to its styling.

Spy photographers have caught the new Nissan Micra testing on public roads in Southern Europe, sporting a revolutionary design compared to the current model.

The prototype is still plastered with camouflage, but you can tell the new Micra grabs inspiration from the Nissan Sway Concept that debuted at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Outside, there’s a sportier-looking body and an aggressive front end, while the rear has a nice subtle spoiler that further separates it from its predecessor.

The new compact is expected to make its debut at the Paris Motor Show in October later this year and will ride on a new platform from the Renault-Nissan alliance that is also underpinning the new Nisan Juke.
