7 Other Millennial Movie Partnerships That Nissan Could Use
At the New York Auto Show, Nissan revealed that it was a hit with Millennials, with much of the credit going to the automaker’s partnerships with pop culture icons like Star Wars.
While the automaker boasts a fairly complete lineup of cars, the over-the-top tie-in to Star Wars with last year’s Rogue: Rogue One Star Wars Limited Edition was a dramatic attempt to hit a larger audience of car buyers. In particular, it brought the car to a number of Star Wars fans who may not have considered the automaker before.

In his recent review of the Nissan Rogue: Rogue One Star Wars Limited Edition, AutoGuide.com Road Test Editor Dan Ilika said the small tweaks and badges do just enough to show the rest of the world what a Star Wars nerd you are. But what if you’re not a fan of that sci-fi soap opera/western?

Well, in the spirit of fun, Ilika and I decided to come up with a few other potential franchises that could be tied in with Nissan’s marketing machine.
Mad Maxima
With the critical success that Mad Max: Fury Road had, it’s a surprise there wasn’t much product placement. The Mad Maxima would play to the Millennials who want a rugged, fuel efficient and badass car that will take them to Valhalla!
Remember the Titans
A big pickup with the heart of a champion, the Nissan Titan portrays much of the same characteristics as the group of football players in Remember the Titans. At least it has more in common with them than the Rogue does with the storyline of Rogue One…
Clash of the Titans
And for those youngsters that are too young to have seen Remember the Titans, why not use a blockbuster movie tie-in for Clash of the Titans. This movie starred the studly Sam Worthington as Perseus as he gutted and fought an army of the underworld’s minions.
The Versa Note-book
For the more sensitive Millennials is this: a The Notebook–themed Versa Note. Additions to this model would include a free tissue box (and holder) and obviously a commemorative, limited edition notebook from Moleskin.
The Bourne Altima-tum
Each Altima: The Bourne Altima-tum edition car will come with a life-sized cutout of Matt Damon, along with free admission to an assassin’s bootcamp and a trip to France to help clear your mind.
Journey to the Sentra of the Earth
The Nissan Journey to the Sentra of the Earth special edition car would include references to other quickly forgotten Brendan Fraser classics like Bedazzled, Monkeybone and The Mummy.
Nissan GT-R Godzilla Edition
Well, yeah, this would work too, I guess… if you wanted to be obvious.

You forgot, "My Fairlady Z". Sure, not a millennial movie, but a classic none the less; and with Nissan throwing the Z on the far back burner, to concentrate on and dvlp the GT-R (more), the Z-car needs as much (free) press as possible so it can soldier on an possible see a "ZX" twin turbo version return. Possibly a millennial remake would help in that department. How about the "Armada-geddon", the earth saving full-size SUV; or is the full-size SUV hurdling toward earth to destroy it? The Armada would feature the Aerosmith greatest hits collection and a signed bandanna from Mr. Tyler himself. The Rogue might also be able to fit into an X-men spin-off featuring the character named Rogue; the one who drains the life force from your body if she touches you...coincidence?
