2018 Ford Ranger Raptor Set to Debut in February
The highly-anticipated 2018 Ford Ranger Raptor will reportedly bow in Bangkok, Thailand on February 7.
According to Australia’s Motoring, Ford has confirmed the debut date and the site reports the Raptor will feature a new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine under the hood. But when it heads to North America, expect to see a standard gasoline engine powering the Ranger Raptor like a version of Ford’s 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6.
If Ford wants to better compete with the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 however, it will need to match the Colorado ZR2’s offerings of both gasoline and diesel engines. A manual transmission is likely wishful thinking, but a 10-speed automatic transmission is a safe bet.

Not much is really known about the 2018 Ford Ranger Raptor, but the American automaker should follow in similar footsteps as the F-150 Raptor. That means upgraded suspension courtesy of Fox, additional power, and exclusive styling elements on the exterior.
More details should spill out in the coming weeks, if the Ranger Raptor does make its official debut in less than two months.
