Leather-lined cowboy luxury – Ram has added the Laramie Longhorn trim to its snazzy new 2019 Ram HD.

It has only been a few days since Ram dropped their new HD pickup on the trucking world. With a spiffy interior and a mighty 1,000 lb-ft of torque, it promises to be a dandy way to get your boat to the lake.

It’ll be a luxurious one, too. Despite showing off several examples dressed to the nines at the North American Auto Show, Ram has decided to roll out a Laramie Longhorn edition as well. Popular with the moneyed cowboy set who like a southwestern theme, this trim brings all manner of real wood, brown leather, and steel trim to an already opulent interior.

“The new Ram Heavy Duty sets benchmarks in HD capability, ride and handling, luxury, materials, innovation and technology, extending well past any competitive offerings,” said Reid Bigland, head of Ram brand. “The Laramie Longhorn is filled with more craftsman-like details, including wood surfaces and 100 percent full-grain leather seats, than any other truck in the segment.”

The interior is said to take its styling cues from any number of time-tested Southwestern traditional items like the script on an antique pocketwatch or the weathered look of a barn door. As on the 1500 Laramie Longhorn, a burned-in “Longhorn” branding mark on upper glove box. Full-grain leather shows up on the dashboard, door-panel coverings, and armrests. Combine that with barn-wood accents and tandem doors on the center console and you’ve got a truck that would make J.R. Ewing proud.

Laramie Longhorn interior colors will include Mountain Brown/Light Mountain Brown and Black/Cattle Tan with contrast piping. Heated full-leather rear seats are standard.

Ram Heavy Duty Laramie Longhorn models are distinguished externally by a chrome-slat grille and header surrounding the premium LED lamps. Chrome bumpers, tow hooks and side steps (power optional) come standard as do wheel flares. Two-tone color options will include correlating RV Match Walnut Brown bumpers (don’t make fun – RV owners have big bucks), flares, and lower panels. That large belt-buckle badging continues to stand proudly on the flanks.

The full line of Ram HD trucks will be on sale later this year. Watch this space for a First Drive very soon.
